A Week 12 college football game has been postponed due to the local weather.

Friday, Buffalo announced that its game against Akron would not be played Saturday as scheduled:

Due to current weather conditions in the Buffalo, NY area, this Saturday’s Mid-American Conference football game between the University at Buffalo and the University of Akron has been postponed.

The Conference will consider opportunities to play the game on Sunday should weather and travel conditions permit.

It’s a potentially important game for Buffalo. The Bulls are 5-5 on the season, needing another win for bowl eligibility. Akron is 1-9 on the year, having dropped its last 9 games.

Heavy snow is in the weekend forecast for the Buffalo area. Sunday’s NFL game between the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns has been moved to Ford Field in Detroit.
