It’s been quite a day for the College Football Playoff.
Ten FBS commissioners and Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick met in Dallas today to discuss CFB expansion. They discussed a potential 8-team or 12-team model, but resistance has been building.
Now, it sounds like things are on hold for a while.
There was supposed to be a meeting in Chicago next week with the CFP Board of Managers. It sounds like the board of managers will meet via Zoom and the commissioners will meet in Chicago, according to The Athletic’s Nicole Auerbach.

CFP expansion has been rumored for a while now, but things got complicated when Texas and Oklahoma announced they were leaving the Big 12 for the SEC. It’ll be interesting to see where things go from here.
