The college football rankings for the 2022 season are getting updated coming out of Championship Weekend. All that’s left between teams and fans and the postseason is Selection Sunday.

The final results for the College Football Playoff field will be updated later Sunday, but ESPN’s Football Power Index has already updated the top 25 coming out of Saturday. Needless to say, some interesting results are included.

Georgia, Ohio State and Michigan — teams many expect to land in the Playoff — are ranked in the top 4. TCU — undefeated entering Saturday — is not after a loss to Kansas State and is slotted at No. 10 by the system.

The hot-topic team of the day is Alabama, and Nick Saban’s squad checks in at No. 2 on the FPI. We’ll see if that matters in the eyes of the Playoff committee.
