College GameDay is beefing up its lineup of personalities once again, adding an occasional guest and popular personality in a full-time capacity moving forward.
Late Tuesday evening, Andrew Marchand with the New York Post reported that Pat McAfee was joining ESPN’s popular Saturday morning pre-game show. McAfee has previously made occasional appearances on GameDay but will be full-time moving forward.
ESPN and Fox are in an emerging battle for college football supremacy. This Saturday, for example, Fox’s “Big Noon Kickoff” will also be on site in Austin. McAfee has made appearances on “GameDay” in the past. Before about a year ago, he had made contributions for the previous 2 seasons.
McAfee addressed the report and confirmed the move via social media. He is expected to continue his daily talk show on YouTube, as well as WWE’s “Friday Night SmackDown” show on FOX.
“It’s an absolute honor 2 have this tweet tweeted about me,” McAfee wrote on Twitter. “GameDay is a show that I’ve been a fan of FOREVER. So many moving parts including real cool conversations w/ the fine folks from WWE..all moved quickly.”
