'College GameDay' analyst Desmond Howard weighs in on coaching futures for Urban Meyer, Jim Harbaugh
Part of being an analyst on ESPN’s College GameDay is getting asked for your opinion on all things college football.
So when Howard spoke at C Spire 1st & 10 Club in Mobile, Ala. on Monday, Creg Stephenson of AL.com was there to get Howard’s thoughts on all the hottest topics in college football.
Howard was asked about two B1G football coaches while he was down South. On the subject of Urban Meyer’s coaching future at Ohio State, Howard stuck to his early prediction that Meyer will return to the sidelines at The Horseshoe.

“I can’t tell you what the right move is, but I just think that he will coach (in 2018). When the news first came out, everybody said he was done, he was fired. There’s no way he could survive. I was like ‘just watch it play out. He will coach.'”
The Michigan great made his original Meyer prediction early in the unfolding of events, a time when the many in the media were speculating he would be dismissed or resign.
Howard was also asked about the coach at his alma mater, Jim Harbaugh. The Wolverines went a disappointing 8-5 last season, but Howard thinks the coach is safe for now.
“I don’t think (his job is in jeopardy). I don’t think he’s on thin ice. I just don’t.”
