College GameDay announces guest picker for visit to Coastal Carolina
ESPN’s College GameDay will be live from Coastal Carolina this weekend for a game that was put together in the middle of the week.
The Chanticleers are having a phenomenal year, up to No. 18 on the CFP Rankings behind a 9-0 start. Coastal was also set to play the Hugh Freeze-led Liberty Flames this weekend with GameDay in town, but that matchup was canceled due to COVID-19 issues with the Flames.
Instead of Coastal getting forced into an idle date with GameDay in town, the Chanticleers found a willing opponent in BYU. The Cougars have looked great so far this season, though many have been skeptical of their schedule to this point. Now, BYU gets the chance to play a top 20 team as the No. 13 Cougars will face the No. 18 Chanticleers on the road.
It is bound to be an interesting game and set up for Saturday morning, and ESPN announced the guest picker Friday evening. The picker will be Dustin Johnson, the top-ranked PGA golfer in the world and recent champion of The Masters.
In addition to those accolades, Johnson is an alum of Coastal Carolina:
Dustin Johnson won this year's Masters Tournament and may even be the master of picks 🙌
