College football is back, and ESPN’s College GameDay aired a special Thursday night broadcast to get Week 1 started.

Prior to the broadcast, Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso discussed the actions in a behind-the-scenes look. Both Herbie and Corso went with the Nittany Lions in the Penn State vs. Purdue game with Herbstreit highlighting the freshmen backs for Penn State.

“Penn State, the offensive line is very good… Anybody but Purdue,” said Corso.

“I hear they have two freshmen running backs at Penn State that are about to go off, so I can’t wait to watch those guys,” said Herbstreit. “I’m with you, I’ve got Penn State.”

When it came time to pick the action on air, Desmond Howard and David Pollack joined Herbstreit and Corso in picking the Nittany Lions to win on the road in West Lafayette. For what it’s worth, Rece Davis did mention that he is taking the Boilermakers to win outright in the game.

We’ll see what happens with kickoff right around the corner! The kickoff for the action will be broadcast on FOX at 8 pm EST.
