College GameDay highlights history of Rose Bowl on venue’s 100-year anniversary
College GameDay talked about the glory of the Rose Bowl on its Monday broadcast. The historic college football stadium turned 100-years old recently.
The Rose Bowl has been a staple of college football for as long as many fans can remember. No matter who is playing there, the game is always of utmost importance. This year’s game will feature Penn State vs. Utah.

GameDay posted a video talking about the epic arena, narrated by Gene Wojciechowski.
“There are bigger places, older places, places with more bells and whistles,” said Wojciechowski. “But that’s the beauty of this place. The Rose Bowl doesn’t need bells. It has the San Gabriel Mountains and those sunsets that turn play-by-play announcers into press box poets.”

The Nittany Lions finished the regular season at 10-2 after losses to Ohio State and Michigan. They will take on the Pac-12 champion Utes, who halted USC’s College Football Playoff bid.
Another great chapter of the iconic bowl game will take place on Monday. Kickoff from the Rose Bowl will be at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN.
