Andy Katz went on B1G Network show ‘B1G Today’ with Dave Revsine to talk about the addition of USC and UCLA to the B1G in 2024.  He was especially excited for what the UCLA basketball program joining the conference.

UCLA has been one of the blue bloods of college basketball for quite some time now. The Bruins have 11 NCAA titles in men’s basketball, with majority coming from longtime coaching great John Wooden. Katz believes that the move will greatly benefit both sides.

Here’s what he had to say:

There is no bigger brand, I think, in college sports than those four letter,” said Katz. “Because of the John Wooden era and those 10 straight championships. Everyone knows UCLA. UCLA is the most applied to school in the country. That’s how popular it is. You are adding a brand that is popular, has a great alumni base. For the most part, I think that this is a huge win for a variety of reasons. Not just historically, but in the present sense.
