College volleyball rankings: Nebraska rises to No. 1 in latest AVCA Coaches Poll (Oct. 24, 2022)
College volleyball rankings are getting updated as we head into the final week of the October schedule. The latest AVCA Coaches Poll is out, and Nebraska has made its move all the way to No. 1.
The Huskers moved into the top spot from No. 3 last week after 2-0 last week with 3-set sweeps of No. 12 Purdue and Illinois. Nebraska has now remarkably won 6 straight B1G matches in sweeping fashion. The Huskers are now 10-0 in B1G play with just one of those matches going to 5 sets.
In terms of first-place votes, Nebraska received 48 with No. 2 Texas receiving 14. San Diego and Louisville also received 1 vote each on the latest poll.
The top 5 is also due for a shakeup next week as well with a marquee B1G match this week. Nebraska and No. 5 Wisconsin will face each other in Madison Wednesday for a huge rematch of the national final.
