The B1G had a chance to capitalize on a historic regular season and surpass the SEC as the best conference in college football.

A 3-7 bowl record didn’t show that.

But Fox Sports radio host Colin Cowherd had some passionate thoughts about why despite the lackluster postseason, the B1G still did more to show it was better than the SEC in 2016:

Cowherd does have an interesting point about the SEC lacking a second-best team. The B1G did have three teams — Michigan, Penn State and Wisconsin — at least play well in New Year’s Six games.

If Alabama wins another national title, however, many will argue that the SEC will still have a leg up on the B1G.
