Damar Hamlin received a positive health update.

The Buffalo Bills announced in a statement on Thursday morning that he has made progress in the last 24 hours. The Bills noted that the physicians caring for Hamlin described him as “neurologically intact.”

“Per the physicians caring for Damar Hamlin at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Damar has shown remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours. While still critically ill, he has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact. His lungs continue to heal and he is making steady progress. We are grateful for the love and support we have received.”

Hamlin has been at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center since he collapsed after making a routine tackle against Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins at Paycor Stadium on Monday night. Medical personnel applied CPR to Hamlin on the field before he was transported to the hospital. His frightening injury caught the attention of the entire country and many people were concerned for Hamlin’s well-being.

This update was a good sign for Hamlin’s recovery process. Support for Hamlin poured in since Monday and people will hope to see further improvement from Hamlin in the coming days.
