“A lot of people don’t get to see how loved they are while they’re alive, so for him to have a situation where he could have been taken away and he has a chance to come back and see all that love that he got.”

After making a tackle in the Bills’ Monday Night Football game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Hamlin collapsed on the field and received medical attention as play was suspended. It was revealed that Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest and received CPR on the field before he was transported by ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Updates from the Bills and the NFL have described Hamlin as being in critical condition.
Hamlin’s family is appreciative of the first responders as well as the outpouring of support from fans.
Dorrian Glenn, Damar Hamlin’s uncle, said off camera strangers have bought the family lunch since they arrived.
“I’m thankful for 1st responders that quickly resuscitated him and get him back and get him to the hospital so he could have a fighting chance to survive.”
