Dan Lanning and Oregon are moving forward from the win over Ohio State.

While the win was a brilliant one for the Ducks, one negative aspect of the game involved wide receiver Traeshon Holden. After a verbal spat with Ohio State’s Davison Igbinosun, Holden was ejected for spitting at the Buckeye.

At his Monday press conference, Lanning was asked about the incident and any future punishment for the receiver. Lanning expressed his disappointment and even said he called Ohio State head coach Ryan Day to communicate his frustration.

As for any additional  punishment for Holden, Lanning said there is some discipline to be handled but that will all be addressed internally.

“Extremely disappointed and his actions within the game, there’s zero place for that in our program, zero place for that in football,” said Lanning. “I reached out to Coach Day and expressed my frustration in that situation. I know Traeshon’s extremely apologetic. He’s embarrassed. He realizes how wrong he was in that moment, and we will handle some things internally. There is some discipline that exists there, but I’m going to leave that for us internally to handle and communicate.”

For what it’s worth, Holden himself also publicly apologized for his action in a post on social media on Monday. While Holden is a key piece to the offense, Evan Stewart take advantage of the night to deliver his best performance as a Duck.
