Dan Lanning was greatly rewarded for Oregon’s 11th win as the team remains undefeated after a close call against the Wisconsin Badgers.

The Ducks, though controversially, are expected to remain ranked No. 1 as such for the foreseeable future following the 16-13 win over the unranked team. Wherever one stands on all of that, it does not matter for the fact Lanning received a $200,000 bonus afterward.

And, on top of that, Lanning also has to his name an automatic 1-year contract extension that is worth $9.4 million. Every bit of that money is guaranteed. Moving forward with a very real chance at a national championship appearance, Lanning is just proud of the bounce back ability his team has shown to this point.

It truly is any given Saturday, something that has been a theme of the 2024 college football season.

“The word you keep hearing is resilient. I think that’s what showed up tonight for our team. It didn’t look the way that we scripted it, but I’m really proud of our guys down the stretch there,” Lanning said in his postgame press conference. “I thought they came and performed.”

Up next on the schedule, Lanning and the Ducks will enjoy a Week 13 bye before they look to finish strong with a matchup against the Washington Huskies, who are far from the same Huskies they faced last year as an unranked team this time.
