Dan Mullen names his top 10 teams in CFB following Week 9
Dan Mullen, as he does every week, ranked the top 10 college football teams in America following an exciting Week 9 slate.
A pair of B1G teams, Ohio State and Michigan, cracked Mullen’s rankings. And the former SEC coach turned ESPN analyst has the Buckeyes sitting at No. 1.
Michigan sits at No. 5 in Mullen’s latest rankings.
Here’s his full top 10:
Week 9 top 10
1. Ohio State
2. Florida State
3. Washington
4. Georgia
5. Michigan
6. Oregon
7. Texas
8. Alabama
9. Oklahoma
10. Ole Miss— Dan Mullen (@CoachDanMullen) October 29, 2023
The Buckeyes sure have the resume of a No. 1 team. But we won’t know for sure until the end of the year against Michigan. The Buckeyes really have struggled on offense this season, they just haven’t met an opposer who can take advantage against the Buckeyes’ vaunted defense.
Wisconsin had all the chances in the world Saturday in Madison. You can point to their dreadful offense, but give the Buckeyes D their flowers, too.
Penn State is noticeably absent from this list as a fringe top 10 team. And that’s fair with how they played Saturday against Indiana. The Hoosiers played them tougher than any team not named Ohio State so far this season, and some late Drew Allar heroics put Indiana to bed.
