According to Matt Zenitz of On3.com, Florida head coach Dan Mullen will be leaving Gainesville.

Additional sources have indicated that the Gators have scheduled a team meeting for 1:30 PM, which is not a normal time for team meetings under Mullen. Reports are that Mullen has been let go.

Reports are that Special Teams Coordinator/RB Coach Greg Knox will serve as Florida’s interim coach against Florida State this weekend.

Florida has been struggling since clinching a spot in last season’s SEC title game. The Gators are just 2-9 in their last 11 games against Power 5 opponents and 5-9 overall.

During this weekend’s 24-23 overtime loss to Missouri was just fuel to the fire of the chatter about Mullen’s fate. With the loss, Florida finished 2-6 overall in the conference and were winless on the road in the SEC. It’s the fewest wins in the SEC since 1986 and the conference winning percentage is the worst since 1979 when they went 0-6.

So, a change at the top isn’t really a shock for anyone.
