Deion Sanders explains decision to have Instagram model speak to Jackson State players
Jackson State coach Deion Sanders is taking an outside the box approach when it comes to preparing his players for the temptations of the outside world.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame member invited Instagram model Brittany Renner on campus to discuss the dangers of sliding into women’s DMs.
The two-time Super Bowl champion cornerback understands this tactic might be controversial to some, but he believes there’s a significant benefit.
“It’s my responsibility as a Coach to prepare my young men for any and everything on the field and off,” Sanders said on Instagram. “I brought in @bundleofbrittany to educate them on how the game is played between man & woman at their age & stage. The message may not be for everybody but trust me it’s for somebody.”
Renner detailed the exclusivity of who’s permitted into her DMs.
“My DMs are like a Nike store, it’s nothing but blue checks,” Renner said. “… Honestly, when you reach a certain status, you can have the pick of the litter. I’m talking heavy hitters, some of y’alls favorite rappers, NBA players, football players. To me, once you reach that level of popularity, the world is your oyster.”
Renner added that on social media there’s a mutual agenda but you have to be cognizant of what comes with the agreement.
“Everybody wants something,” Renner said. “Even if we both have our own thing going on. Me still being with you is a good look because you boost my stock. I boost your stock, it’s just that simple. It’s like a give and take, but you have to be aware of what you’re signing up for.”
