The last time Michigan State beat Ohio State was back in 2015. It looks some things haven’t changed in 6 years.

Fox College Football found that there are more than just a few things lining up to how the game was 6 years ago. Some of them are very close, if not right where they were in 2015.

The first similarity is that the date is just one day off. The game in 2015 was on November 21st, and the game this year will be on November 20th, 2021. The game will also be played in Columbus like it was back then.

Michigan State is also ranked two spots higher than it was going into the matchup, while Ohio State is two spots lower. Back in 2015, Michigan State was ranked 9th and Ohio State was ranked 2nd. This time, it’s No. 7 Michigan State vs No. 4 Ohio State.

The records of both teams are almost identical as well, with both the Spartans and Buckeyes coming in at 9-1. In 2015, Michigan State was 9-1 and Ohio State was 10-0.

The final two similarities both have to do with Ohio State.

The Buckeyes are coming into the game with a huge winning streak against B1G teams. In 2015, Ohio State came into the game on a 30-game win streak against the Big Ten. Now in 2021, Ohio State is on another one with 25 wins in a row in the regular season against the B1G.

Lastly, both Urban Meyer then and Ryan Day now entered the matchup with an unbeaten record in regular-season Big Ten games as the Buckeye head coach.

If this game is anything like it was 6 years ago, buckle up. No. 7 Michigan State (9-1) and No. 4 Ohio State (9-1) meet in Columbus again on Saturday at noon ET on ABC.
