Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports released some names he thinks should be considered for the Georgia Tech head coaching job. His list has 6 different coaches from around the country, and can be found here.
Changes are coming to the Georgia Tech football program. The team let go of Geoff Collins, who took over for longtime HC Paul Johnson when he retired in 2018. There are some high profile names on his list.
The Yellow Jackets got off to a 1-3 start this season with losses to Clemson, Ole Miss, and UCF. The one win that Georgia Tech had came against Western Carolina. After the UCF loss, the team decided that it was to time to go its separate ways with Collins.
Another thing that had a role in Collins’ firing was his overall record as a coach. Collins posted a 10-28 record since his first season with the team in 2019.
Here are the coaches that Dodd believes should be considered for the job:
- Deion Sanders, HC, Jackson State
- Todd Monken, OC, Georgia
- Shawn Clark, HC, Appalachian State
- Tyson Helton, HC, WKU
- Jamey Chadwell, HC, Coastal Carolina
- Andy Kotelnicki, OC, Kansas
