Believe it or not, but it is Michigan State’s defense that is looking for a rebound performance in Week 7.

Long questioned for their stagnant offense, the Spartans roll into Madison, Wisconsin coming off of back-to-back lackluster defensive showings. They were able to come away with a win despite giving up 31 points to Indiana, but a trip to Columbus did not go as planned as the Buckeyes raced away with a 34-10 win.

On the other side of the ball, Wisconsin enters the game riding an undefeated streak and feeling good about its season. Led by superstar running back Jonathan Taylor, the Badger offense has taken another step forward behind the play of QB Jack Coan.

When it comes to Saturday’s game between the Spartans and Badgers, it is the quarterback position that Desmond Howard sees as the x-factor between the two teams. The College GameDay host expects an angry and hungry MSU defense to rebound, which means the game likely swings behind a big play from one of the two starting quarterbacks:

“Sparty’s defense has been good against the run until the Buckeyes shredded them,” explained Howard. “This is a time for redemption, going up against one of the best running backs in Jonathan Taylor. I think this game’s gonna come down to which quarterback can make a throw late. Will it be Brian Lewerke or Jack Coan of Wisconsin?”

Kickoff is set for 3:30 pm EST on BTN.
