Dick Vitale cleared to ‘ring the bell’ following positive update from doctors

Dick Vitale has been battling cancer and has been transparent with the public about his health struggles. Fortunately, Vitale was able to share a positive update with fans on Thursday.
Following a visit with his doctors, Vitale reported that he was “clear to ring the bell” after his medical team analyzed his latest bloodwork. He went on to share a video of his moment with the bell.
“It was RING THE BELL TIME! It was a tough 7 months,” wrote Vitale in his caption on Twitter, “but it was super hearing Dr. Brown say that I have zero cancer currently. I was inspired daily by the famous words of my late buddy Jimmy V (Valvano).”

The popular college basketball broadcaster has been a mainstay at ESPN throughout the years. He missed most of the 2021-22 college basketball season due to health struggles, including issues with his vocal cords that required rest.
