Dillon Gabriel was ecstatic after his Oregon Ducks took down the second-ranked Buckeyes in Week 7.

The top-5 matchup was one of the weekend’s most anticipated games and it lived up to the hype. The Ducks escaped with a 32-31 win and stayed perfect on the season, improving to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

After the game, Gabriel was asked what the postgame scene in the locker room was like.

“Well I can’t give you all the secrets,” Gabriel said. “But I will say, it was just a lot of fun. Winning is fun, you know, and there’s a lot of joy in winning.”

One reporter then mentioned that Gabriel appeared to be “on another level” as he was coming off the field.

“Yeah, a lot of F-bombs,” admitted Gabriel. “But rightfully so, you know. I just know how much time and effort everyone puts into this. And like I said, there’s joy in winning, and you like to see your team succeed.”

The super-senior credited everyone from coaches to players to support staff for the team’s success.

Gabriel had a great game against the Buckeyes, throwing for 341 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also rushed for 32 yards and another touchdown. With the game on the line late in the fourth quarter, Gabriel led an 11-play, 74-yard drive that killed 4:13 off the clock and produced the game-winning field goal with under 2 minutes to play.

The Ducks — who moved up to No. 2 in the latest AP poll — hit the road in Week 8 to face Purdue. Michigan and Illinois are the only ranked opponents remaining on the Ducks’ schedule.
