Dillon Gabriel has made no secret of the fact that he values wins over individual accolades.

Still, the Oregon quarterback now stands alone in the FBS record books with 179 total touchdowns, breaking Case Keenum’s mark on Saturday in the third quarter with a scoring pass to Gernorris Wilson against Maryland. (Gabriel would add career touchdown No. 180 before the end of the game.)

Gabriel took a reflective stance in his postgame press conference on Saturday, opting to focus less on the record and more on the bond he’s built with his teammates.

“I’ve been a guy who’s tried to play the game as long as I can (and) maximize every moment,” he said. “I think more than anything, that’s not things you’ll take with you. It’s the relationships, the people. Gernorris catching that touchdown, things like that (are) things I’ll remember, not necessarily (the) record book. …

“I think that’s true to a lot of people. And I think that just happens when you lock in and focus on where you’re at,” he said.

The Ducks improved to 10-0 with the win against the Terrapins and are in the driver’s seat for not only a Big Ten Championship Game appearance but a first College Football Playoff bid since 2014.

Gabriel finished 23-of-34 for the day, throwing for 183 yards and 3 touchdowns while adding 4 carries for 28 yards.

The Ducks head back to Eugene to face Wisconsin in their second-to-last regular season game.
