Dillon Gabriel gives update on injured hand ahead of Boise State game
Dillon Gabriel shared an update on his injured left hand while speaking with reporters on Tuesday evening.
According to Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire, Gabriel indicated that his hand would not be an issue moving forward after he accidentally hit it on an Idaho player’s helmet over the weekend.
“Hand’s good,” Gabriel said. “Just a bucket of ice and we’re rolling.”

Gabriel’s play appeared to suffer a bit after the injury occurred in Oregon’s 24-14 win over Idaho. He threw for 380 yards in the win, but it took him 49 attempts to get to that total.
Still, optimism remains high for both Gabriel and Oregon in 2024. As of Tuesday, Gabriel is still one of the favorites to take home the 2024 Heisman Trophy.
Oregon will face tougher opposition in Week 2. The Ducks are set to face off against Boise State this weekend. They’re currently favored by 19 points, according to the latest lines from DraftKings. Oregon’s defense may have its hands full with Boise running back Ashton Jeanty, who ran for 6 touchdowns in the Broncos’ season-opener over the weekend.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT on Saturday night.
