Dillon Gabriel and the Oregon Ducks saw their run for a College Football Playoff title end with a 41-21 loss to Ohio State on Wednesday night in the Rose Bowl.

During the game, Gabriel tied Keenum for the most-ever passing touchdowns in FBS history with 155. The touchdown came early in the 4th quarter, but it was not enough to get the Ducks back into the game.

Gabriel began his college career at UCF, where he played his first 3 seasons. He finished with 8,037 passing yards, 7o touchdowns and 14 interceptions. In 2022, he transferred to Oklahoma to play 2 more seasons, finishing there with 6,828 passing yards, 55 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

This was his lone season in Eugene, and he was a big reason why the Ducks were able to make it to the CFP. He threw for 3,857 yards, 30 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions while finishing 3rd to Travis Hunter and Ashton Jeanty in the Heisman Trophy race.

His 155 touchdowns are tied for the 2nd most in Division I history, as Cam Ward broke that record during the Hurricanes’ 42-41 loss to the Iowa State Cyclones. Gabriel will look to take his talents to the NFL where it will be interesting to see how he impacted his draft stock with one final season in college.

For Ducks fans, it is a difficult ending to such a promising season, but they also got to witness one of the best careers for any quarterback in college football history.
