Dillon Thieneman will be trading in his Purdue black and gold for Oregon’s green and yellow beginning in 2025.

Thieneman, one of the most coveted defensive backs in the transfer portal, announced on X that he had committed to the Ducks, as you can see below:

Thieneman, a 3-star recruit in 2023, was an immediate contributor for the Boilermakers. As a true freshman, he totaled 106 tackles and 6 interceptions, both team highs. He was a coaches’ pick for All-Big Ten second-team accolades and was a finalist for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year award.

His terrific play continued as a sophomore, posting a team-leading 104 tackles, 5.0 TFLs, and 7 passes defensed while garnering a postseason B1G honorable mention nod.

After the firing of Ryan Walters as Purdue’s head coach, Thieneman entered the transfer portal, instantly becoming one of the top players there. Oregon ultimately won out, with the Ducks set to welcome the Indiana native to Eugene. It’s a massive commitment for the Ducks for 2025 as a possible top 2026 NFL Draft prospect is now in the fold.

This year’s Ducks, though are in the midst of an undefeated campaign. After winning the B1G in their first season in the conference, Dan Lanning’s team hopes to continue their unbeaten run all the way to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
