Discover, B1G ink sponsorship agreement

The B1G has inked a major sponsorship agreement with Discover.

On Tuesday morning, the conference released a statement that Discover, the B1G, and Big Ten Network “announced Discover as the official credit card of the 14-school conference.” Included in the agreement, Discover will be the first presenting sponsor of the B1G Championship Game, which will take place on Dec. 2, 2017.

Yahoo Sports tweeted out the statement as it was released from the B1G.

Discover also becomes the first credit card sponsor of the B1G.

The release also state that “the multi-year agreement enables Discover to engage with one of the nation’s largest fan bases, student populations and alumni networks across a multitude of platforms, including nationally televised Big Ten sporting events on FOX, FS1, and the Big Ten Network, as well as on digital and streaming platforms such as FOX Sports Go and BTN2Go apps.

Discover’s logo will also have a presence at several B1G events throughout the year.

When the statement was released, the length of the deal and the amount of money involved was undisclosed.
