Division II football player found dead from apparent suicide

Tragedy has struck Stonehill College, as a member of its football program was found dead from an apparent suicide, according to reports.

Easton Enterprise News is reporting that the body of Marc Tarabocchia was found at W.B. Stadium on the Stonehill College campus early Tuesday morning. The Bristol County (New Jersey) District Attorney’s office, Tarabocchia died from an apparent suicide.

Tarabocchia was a three-year member of the Skyhawks football program and was an accounting major at Stonehill College. He was 20 years old.

The college president and head football coach both issued statements on Tarabocchia’s passing.

Stonehill College President Dean O’Keefe:

The entire Stonehill community is deeply saddened by the passing of Marc Tarabocchia. We send our most sincere condolences to Marc’s family, friends and loved ones, his fellow students and teammates during this difficult time.

Head football coach Eli Gardner:

I would like to send my deepest sympathies and prayers to Marc’s family. I will remember Marc as a caring and smart individual, and good friend to all within the football program here at Stonehill.
