Doak Walker Award announces semifinalists, includes two B1G RBs
Two B1G running backs have been named semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award, presented to the best running back in college football.
Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor and Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins were both included among the 10 semifinalists for the award. Here is the full list of semifinalists, as it was announced on Thursday:

- J.K. Dobbins, Ohio State
- Clyde Edwards-Helaire, LSU
- Travis Etienne, Clemson
- Kenneth Gainwell, Memphis
- Chuba Hubbard, Oklahoma State
- Xavier Jones, SMU
- Zack Moss, Utah
- Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin
Taylor and Dobbins rank No. 1 and No. 2 in the B1G in rushing yardage through 10 games this season. Taylor has piled up 1,463 yards and 17 touchdowns, while Dobbins has tallied 1,289 yards and 13 touchdowns on the year. Both are deserving of the honor.
Last year, Taylor was the winner of the Doak Walker Award after finishing his sophomore season with 2,194 yards and 16 touchdowns.
