After a September of upsets in college football, October is also off to an upset start!

This time, the upset came in Austin, Texas as the No. 9 Longhorns were unable to shake off TCU. Texas was in a shootout against Texas Tech last weekend that went into overtime, but it was a costly turnover late in the fourth quarter that sealed the deal in this one.

After TCU took the lead with about four minutes to go, quarterback Sam Ehlinger led the Longhorns deep inside Horned Frogs territory. They rolled all the way inside the five-yard line and appeared ready to take the lead with just a couple minutes left in the game.

In the end, Keaontay Ingram fumbled the ball away and TCU was able to run off the last two minutes of the clock for the 33-31 upset. For TCU, it’s another signature upset under head coach Gary Patterson. For Texas, it’s another disappointing loss under Tom Herman who will try and regroup to face Oklahoma next Saturday.
