“That’s the hope,” CEO of Collegiate Licensing Co. Cory Moss said.
The extremely popular franchise was discontinued after NCAA Football 14. This was due former UCLA basketball star Ed O’Bannon and a group of players filing a class-action lawsuit against the NCAA that cited EA Sports and the Collegiate Licensing Company as co-defendants. The players purported that the NCAA used the franchise to wrongfully profit from their images.
However, now with the new NIL rules, once group licensing is formally reached, to the delight of college football fans across the nation, the franchise will be set to resume.
