One of the best defensive ends in the country whittled his list of schools down to a top-eight on Tuesday, and three B1G schools are still in the running.

The player is Monkell Goodwine, a four-star defensive end on the 2021 class. According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Goodwine is rated the No. 4 player out of Maryland and the No. 8 SDE in the country for the class.

Listed at 6-foot-4 and 249 lbs. and hailing from Fort Washington, Maryland, Goodwine is understandably drawing a lot of interest from Power 5 programs throughout the country. Among those schools still in the running, Penn State, Ohio State, and Maryland were among Goodwine’s list of final eight.
