The ESPN All-America preseason selections for the 2023 season are out with 6 B1G stars included!
On the list, Ohio State and Penn State tied for the lead in the conference with 2 players each named to the first team. The Buckeye selections were returning 1,000-yard receivers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka with Egbuka named to an “all-purpose” slot on the offense.
Penn State had a player on offense and defense nominated, including major NFL prospect Olu Fashanu on the offensive line. Blake Corum — despite coming off a season-ending knee injury — was Michigan’s lone preseason pick on ESPN’s list.
In his description of the nominations, ESPN’s Chris Low explained the preseason list includes career production along with projection. Consultation with college coaches, NFL scouts and colleagues are also included to try and determine “who we think will be the best players on the field this season.”
Here are the B1G players included:
Offense
- RB Blake Corum, Michigan
- WR Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State
- OT Olu Fashanu, Penn State
- All-Purpose: Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State
Defense
- DT Jer’Zhan “Johnny” Newton, Illinois
- CB Kalen King, Penn State
