Week 4 of the 2023 college football season brought the fireworks. There were 6 matchups between teams ranked in the top 25, which helped determine the College Football Playoff picture. As we look ahead to Week 5, ESPN’s experts predicted their College Football Playoff fields following Saturday’s action.

Georgia was not among the matchups of ranked opponents, but that did not hurt the Bulldogs’ standing. Kirby Smart’s team took care of business in Week 4 with a 49-21 win over UAB. UGA remains the only unanimous College Football Playoff pick among ESPN’s 14 experts.

Florida State is next in line, making 12 ballots. The Seminoles advanced through one of the biggest challenges on their schedule with a 31-24 overtime win at Clemson.

Ohio State’s stock is up. The Buckeyes have overtaken Michigan as the top pick from the Big Ten to make the field of 4. OSU defeated No. 9 Notre Dame 17-14 on the road thanks to a last-second touchdown. Ryan Day’s team is now on 8-of-14 ballots.

Michigan is also 4-0, but is down from 14-of-15 Playoff ballots to 6-of-14 after Week 4. The Wolverines cruised to victory over Rutgers in Jim Harbaugh’s return to the sidelines.
