In Rittenberg’s breakdown, he examines the 2020, 2021 and 2022 seasons and the quarterback position. In order to make the list, not only does the current quarterback have to be pretty good, but the backups and incoming recruits need to be solid, as well.
Keeping that in mind, the B1G put five teams on Rittenberg’s list. Ohio State was near the top, coming in at No. 2. Here’s a look at where ESPN ranked those five teams, as well as a look at the top five overall:
- No. 1: Clemson
- No. 2: Ohio State
- No. 3: USC
- No. 4: Alabama
- No. 5: Oklahoma
- No. 12: Penn State
- No. 17: Minnesota
