ESPN Playoff Predictor gives B1G really good chance at making College Football Playoff
We’re only three weeks into the regular season, but boy, has the Big Ten struggled.
That’s the theme around the country. We’re hearing and seeing it everywhere. People bashing this team, somebody says the whole conference isn’t nearly as good as everyone thought, etc.
But in the end, maybe the conference really isn’t that bad after all. Even in the latest AP Poll, 2 Big Ten teams are in the top 10 and 5 are in the top 25. It’s really not that bad.
Compared to expectations, that may be a different story.
Regardless, ESPN’s Playoff Predictor gave its latest odds for each conference around the country to get one team in the College Football Playoff — it gave multiple teams odds as well. The SEC, to probably nobody’s surprise, has a higher chance than any other conference.
The Big Ten, though, is second. And it’s not even really close:

Sure, Ohio State may be the conference’s main hope, but there’s still Penn State. And if Wisconsin, Michigan or any other undefeated conference team went unbeaten, they could get in as well.
Again, the Big Ten has let people down to this point as a whole, but is the conference truly that bad?
