ESPN updates Bracketology, 9 B1G teams predicted to make NCAA Tournamet
We’re still a long way from the start of the college basketball season, but it’s never too early to take a look at Bracketology. Last week, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi updated his projections for the 2020-21 NCAA Tournament.
With the NBA pushing back the draft due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the NCAA subsequently delaying the withdraw date, it’s a little more difficult to forecast what next season will look like. But Lunardi, right now, really likes the B1G for this coming season.
In his latest projections, Lunardi believes nine B1G squads will earn a spot in the March Madness tournament at the end of the season. It’s more than any other conference in the sport.
Here are the nine teams Lunardi anticipates reaching the NCAA Tournament:
- No. 2: Wisconsin
- No. 2: Michigan State
- No. 3: Iowa
- No. 4: Ohio State
- No. 6: Rutgers
- No. 6: Michigan
- No. 6: Indiana
- No. 8: Purdue
- No. 9: Illinois
A handful of B1G players are still testing the NBA Draft waters. When those players make a final decision, it could skew the projections later in the year. Regardless, Lunardi is anticipating another great year of basketball within the conference.
