The final week of the college football season is in the books. Teams have made their cases, and now it’s on the College Football Playoff selection committee to make its final rankings.
Rankings will be released around noon today, letting us know which teams have earned a spot in the College Football Playoff, which have earned trips to New Year’s Six bowl games and which teams are going to narrowly miss out.
But, before we jump into that, let’s take a look at where ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) has teams ranked now that the season has come to an end. If you’ve been following this all year, you’ll know that these rankings are going to look much different than what the selection committee’s Top 25 looks like in a few hours.
Ohio State still leads the way for the B1G, sitting at the No. 2 spot. Five other B1G squads earned a spot in the Top 25:
- Alabama
- Ohio State
- Clemson
- Georgia
- Oklahoma
- Notre Dame
- Florida
- Wisconsin
- Texas A&M
- Texas
- Iowa
- Iowa State
- Indiana
- Oregon
- BYU
- Cincinnati
- USC
- Auburn
- UCF
- Oklahoma State
- Penn State
- TCU
- Northwestern
- Arizona State
- North Carolina
Because the FPI ranks all FBS teams playing college football, here’s a look at where the remaining B1G teams ranked:
- No. 41: Minnesota
- No. 45: Nebraska
- No. 46: Michigan
- No. 51: Purdue
- No. 70: Rutgers
- No. 75: Maryland
- No. 79: Illinois
- No. 81: Michigan State
