Week 3 was mostly an embarrassment for the B1G. It finished 6-7 in non-conference play, losing all those games to unranked opponents, five of which came from non-power conferences.

But a few teams experienced success on Saturday, and those teams saw a little bump in ESPN’s updated Football Power Index top 25.

The B1G has two teams in ESPN’s top five in the FPI, with Ohio State and Penn State both coming off wins. Michigan cracked the top 10, coming in at No. 8. Three other teams made the cut, as well.

Here’s where the B1G stacked up in the most recent FPI:

  • No. 3: Ohio State
  • No. 4: Penn State
  • No. 8: Michigan
  • No. 13: Michigan State
  • No. 18: Wisconsin
  • No. 23: Iowa

Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan and Iowa were all winners on Saturday, accounting for four of the B1G’s six wins on Saturday. Wisconsin lost to BYU and Michigan State was on a bye week.

Minnesota and Indiana were the only other B1G teams to post victories in Week 3.
