ESPN writers rank top 5 Heisman candidates entering Week 9
The Heisman talk has picked up steam as mid-October conference games have had playmakers with many opportunities to make statements during massive games with playoff implications.
ESPN writers have ranked their top five Heisman contenders at the moment.
- QB Hendon Hooker – Tennessee
- QB C.J. Stroud – Ohio State
- QB Bryce Young – Alabama
- QB Caleb Williams – USC (Southern California)
- RB Blake Corum – Michigan

According to ESPN writers, two B1G playmakers are in the top five. Coming in second is Ohio State QB, C.J. Stroud.

According to the ESPN writers, RB Blake Corum of Michigan is in fifth place in the rankings. Corum, this season has carried the ball 146 times for 901 yards, 6.2 yards per carry and 13 touchdowns.
Stroud and Corum will have ample opportunities to impress the committee over the final month of the season.
Michigan hosts Michigan State this weekend at 7:30 ET on ABC; Ohio State travels to No. 13 Penn State at Noon ET on FOX.
It will be fun if both playmakers keep up their performance all the way up to The Game at the end of November.
