ESPN/ABC announces new college football coverage assignments for 2017

College football studio shows on ESPN and ABC are going through a bit of a change before the 2017 season kicks off.

The biggest news was that Booger McFarland is leaving SEC Network to join ABC Sports. Though he will no longer be an SEC-specific personality, McFarland will still be covering college football for the ESPN/ABC family.

Here are a few other changes that were noteworthy that were announced on Tuesday:

  • McFarland is joining Mack Brown and Kevin Negandhi for a three-man crew for ABC’s coverage of college football.
  • Jesse Palmer, Joey Galloway and Adnan Virk will join together for college football coverage on ESPN on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Chip Kelly will be an analyst for ESPN on Fridays and Saturdays.
