Nebraska and Wisconsin are now looking for a new head coach. They were ranked by ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg as two of the top head coaching vacancies in the country.
Rittenberg shortened his list down to the five best open head coaching jobs at the moment. Colorado came in fifth, Georgia Tech was in fourth, and Arizona State was in third. Nebraska was number two, while Wisconsin was ranked as the best.
His reasoning for putting Nebraska at No. 2 was that there are not too many schools who are invested in their football programs like Nebraska is. Regardless of how good or bad the team is, fans are still going to show up the games in large numbers.
Rittenberg cited Wisconsin’s record as of late to justify him putting the Badgers at the top. He also believes that Wisconsin could eventually make the 12-team College Football Playoff in the future.
Who will be the next head coaches at either of these schools?
Grant Bricker covers the B1G for Saturday Tradition. His previous stops include the Williamson Homepage and Nashville Post.
