When Notre Dame toppled top-ranked Clemson in two overtimes in South Bend, the win ended a 28-game ACC win streak by the Tigers and gave the Irish their first victory over a No. 1 team at home in 27 years. The result made Notre Dame a unanimous pick from the ESPN crew for the College Football Playoff for the first time this season.
Also a first, Clemson fails to appear on pair of lists for the first time in 2020. Watch for the two teams to likely square off in a rematch in the ACC championship game in December.
Bill Connelly and Ryan McGee added BYU after their 51-17 rout of Boise State, dropping Clemson from their choices.
With the scheduled games next weekend we expect no real surprises, but with how 2020 has been going, nothing is for certain.
