ESPN's College GameDay pays tribute to colleague, CFB writer Ed Aschoff
ESPN college football writer Edward Aschoff passed away at the age of 34 on Christmas Eve — his birthday. He had contracted pneumonia around a month ago according to social media posts:
Anyone ever had multifocal (bilateral) pneumonia in their early 30s as some who never gets sick and has a very good immune system? Asking for two friends … my lungs.

Damn. So I had a virus for two weeks. Fever and cough and the doctors think it turned into this multifocal pneumonia recently. I’m on day 4 of antibiotics. Days are getting better but nights are basically fever and coughing and sweating. How long were you out for?

On Saturday, during ESPN’s specialized version of College GameDay, the crew paid tribute to Aschoff:
“We salute him as we cover the sport he loved, college football.”

Football is amazing, but appreciating what we have — football related or not — is something we should all do more often.
