ESPN’s FPI, Football Power Index, has updated the race for the B1G East and a trip to Indianapolis for the conference championship game following Week 3 of the 2022 season. The B1G East had 6 of their 7 teams win in Week 3.

Ohio State and Michigan each had dominating wins over Group of 5 teams in Week 3. Penn State had a huge nonconference 41-12 win on the road against Auburn. Indiana, Maryland, and Rutgers had close wins against Group of 5 programs.

The only team from the B1G East that did not account for a win was Michigan State, who fell 39-28 on the road to Washington. While this loss doesn’t affect Michigan State in the divisional standings, the loss impacts the team moving forward.

Here is how the FPI is predicting the B1G East:

  • Ohio State – 59.2%
  • Michigan – 22.6%
  • Penn State – 15.3%
  • Michigan State – 2.1%

Ohio State has a 10% difference drop from last week as Michigan and Penn State saw themselves rising in the odds. Penn State had the biggest jump this week by seeing their odds increase more than half from last week. Michigan State lowers significantly after its loss to Washington.
