ESPN’s FPI is predicting every college football game on the Week 7 slate. One game of particular interest is the B1G West matchup between Nebraska and Purdue.

After a sudden turnaround and a two-game B1G winning streak, the Huskers find themselves tied atop the division. That three-way tie also involves Purdue and Illinois.

The Boilermakers have bounced back from a pair of last-minute defeats and early-season injury concerns to find their groove. In back-to-back weeks, Purdue went on the road and secured tough conference wins to establish the team as a contender in the West.

In Week 7, the Football Power Index does see one heavy favorite in the game. That favorite is Jeff Brohm’s Purdue squad with the Boilermakers given an 85.1% chance of coming away with the win.

That heavy favorite prediction for Purdue is not entirely surprising. The Boilermakers have surged into the position as favorites in the West and are given a 47.7% chance of winning the division this season. The next closest team on the FPI in the West is Minnesota with a 24.8% chance.

Nevertheless, no team has been able to hold onto the role as the favorite in the division through the first six weeks of the season. We’ll see if Purdue can switch that up in Week 7.
