ESPN's FPI predicts outcome of Iowa-Michigan B1G Championship Game
The stage is finally set for the B1G Championship Game in Indianapolis. A dramatic regular season finally concluded with the division races not decided until the final weekend of the season.
To start Rivalry Week, Iowa stormed back from a 15-point deficit to stun Nebraska on Black Friday. That win guaranteed the Hawkeyes a share of the B1G West title, though they still needed some help.
That help was provided by Minnesota with an incredible defensive showing to reclaim the Axe vs. Wisconsin. A loss by the Badgers gave the West to Iowa, along with a trip to the championship game in Indy.
In the B1G East, Michigan and Ohio State squared off with the division on the line. This time around, the Wolverines bucked the trend and steamrolled the Buckeyes with an elite pass rush and dominant offensive line.
Now, Michigan and Iowa are getting set to decide the B1G title. That game will kickoff at 8 pm EST on Saturday, and ESPN’s FPI has updated its odds for the game. According to the FPI, Michigan is given a 76.8% chance of winning the B1G and taking home the title.
Can Iowa thrive in a familiar underdog role, or will the Wolverines roll to Jim Harbaugh’s first conference title?
