It may be hard to believe, but B1G football is just around the corner.

After weeks and months of planning and testing, football is now a reality in the crazy world of this 2020 year. In Week 1, Maryland and Northwestern will face each other with both teams trying to forget disappointing seasons.

Mike Locksley and his Terrapins got off to a roaring start in 2019. Unfortunately, that start did not last for long with an ugly skid to end the year.

For Pat Fitzgerald and his Wildcats, the wins just never got rolling. A 3-9 record last season put an end to his streak of four straight bowl appearances at Northwestern.

Heading into 2020, both teams are eager for a strong start, but ESPN’s Football Power Index sees a heavy favorite in the showdown. According to the FPI, Northwestern is given an 89.7% chance of taking down Maryland in Week 1.

Will the Wildcats roll to a big win, or can Maryland fight hard and keep it close? Saturday’s kickoff is set for 7:30 pm EST on BTN.
