ESPN's FPI predicts outcome of Maryland vs. Nebraska in Week 11
ESPN’s FPI has updated predictions for Week 11 as Nebraska and Maryland prepare for just their third all-time meeting since joining the B1G.
This time around, both programs will play for bowl eligibility while entering the game with a 5-4 overall record. The winner of Saturday’s game will reach their 6th win and punch a ticket into the postseason.
Despite heading to Lincoln for the game, Maryland is a slim 2.5-point favorite on the road. The FPI also sides with the Terrapins, giving them a 57.3% chance of coming away with the win in Week 11. Fans can use the DraftKings Maryland promo code to get in on the action.
So far, Nebraska is 2-0 in the all-time series though the Huskers and Terrapins have not faced off since the 2019 season. Maryland began turning things around under Mike Locksley in 2021 while Matt Rhule is in his first season with the program.
As for this year’s matchup, Nebraska brings in a strong defense to try and limit the Terps, but there are some offensive issues for the Huskers. Starting QB Heinrich Haarberg most recently was tagged for 3 turnovers in a loss to Michigan State and now has 6 interceptions on the season.
Maryland, meanwhile, is mired in its own skid with a 4-game losing streak. After looking at a lock for a bowl game with a 5-0 start, Locksley’s team now needs one win in the final 3 weeks to get to the postseason.
